The name literally means "Green Wine", and while almost pale green in color, this bright young wine offers a gentle and fruity aroma and a smooth, delicate flavor of lemon zest and fresh fruit. The decidedly dry character is lifted by the slight effervescence, which adds a unique dimension by texturing the higher acidity of the crisp green apple and citrus notes, making them more subdued, and at the same time, more balanced and enjoyable. This wine has some residual sugar, but it also has enough acid to overcome any weighty sweetness. It is ideal as an aperitif, with fish, seafood, salads or spicy cuisine. It would pair particularly well with a summer meal of pears, multigrain bread, walnuts and Gorgonzola.
