Made from Spatsburgunder, the German version of Pinot Noir, this one is delicate and rich, with a strong sense of terroir, reminiscent of a Central Coast Pinot. The Allendorf family has owned vineyards in the Rheingau since 1292. Back in 1955, Fritz Allendorf, the father of the present owners, only possessed 1.5 hectares of vineyard. Today, the family has 58 hectares and is one of the largest family-owned wineries in Germany. Very impressive!
