Santa Rita has proven it can do it all from $7 varietal wines to $50 blends. The winery's sweet spot, though, is in its midrange reserve wines. Produced from 20 year-old vines in the Maipo Valley, this wine is matured in American oak barrels for eight months. It shows an intense ruby-red color, with a fruity aroma of black fruits, plums and herbs pleasantly combined with notes of vanilla, cloves and spices from the barrel. On the palate, it is a medium-bodied wine, expressive and complex with a lingering finish.
