Alexander Valley was shaped by dramatic geologic, from an ancient mudflow that changed the course of the Russian River, to earthquake upheavals that redistributed whole sections of land. The incredible diversity of soil types and microclimates in the valley result in wines with velvety textures and bright luscious. The Simi Cabernet has intense cassis, blackberry with hints of leather, accented by dried herbs and vanilla in the nose. Lush berry flavors with full, ripe tannins provide this wine with great length and power. It is well suited for grilled beef tenderloin, roast duck, red wine-braised lamb, Camembert and blue cheeses.
